Welcome to the Alma College Writing Center! Writers need readers, so set up an appointment to talk about your writing with a peer consultant. All writers are welcome. We can support you in writing across all courses and majors and in any stage of the writing process—from brainstorming to drafting to revising to editing a final draft. We can also consult with you on job materials, scholarship essays, graduate applications, creative writing, and multimodal texts (e.g., PowerPoint slides, web content, photo essays).

We are located in Collab 004 on the lower level of the Hatcher Learning Commons. The Writing Center opens the Monday of the third week of class each semester and offers appointments Monday through Thursday each week. It is closed whenever courses are canceled (e.g., spring break, Honors Day) and has limited hours during finals week. We also offer writing groups, book clubs, and writing workshops.
